LibreOffice vs OpenOffice

LibreOffice is the successor to OpenOffice.org, commonly known as OpenOffice, which had its last major update in 2014. (There have been occasional minor updates since then, but OpenOffice has a history of leaving security issues unfixed so all users are strongly recommended to upgrade to LibreOffice, which is more actively maintained.)
