Created attachment 118402 [details] Example: Heading og userdef. index will not "keep with next paragraph" Check the attached file (there is an german bug description inside too) If you open the document, the headline of the userdefined index is at the bottom of the first page. The body of the index is at the next page. (The "Keep with next paragraph"-value of the paragraph style of the index-heading is set. No changes made here) If you go to the dialog "Edit paragraph style" and press "apply" without any changes made, the heading will move to its correct position at top of page two. so it seems some initialisation is broken. Maybe this bug affects other indexes too (not testet)
Thanks for filing the issue. I confirm the behaviour. In 5.0.1.2 After correcting the error, saving and opening again, the problem doesn't pop up again. Correct? Any idea if this worked fine in the past? Cheers - Cor

confirmed still a problem with 7.0+. This is right before a table of contents, so likely some special case here. I assume the "keep" property comes from the Heading - User Index Heading paragraph style - because the paragraph attributes cannot be accessed directly. confirmed that all the details in comment 1 still are true. A simple round-trip is not enough to "fix" the problem, but even just adding and deleting a paragraph marker before the TOC is enough to fix the problem.
repro 7.3+ I expect this is just a layout issue (which are ridiculously hard to solve).
