Description Bugcruncher 2014-07-29 04:45:32 UTC
Problem description:
An empty page will be shown in WWW Browser instead of useful help
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open empty new Writer (does not matter) document
2. Type a short nonsense string
3. double click string
4. Click Hyperlink Dialog Icon in Standard Toolbar
   » Hyperlink Dialog will appear
5. In left vertical icons pane select "Internet"
6. Click "Web" radio button
7. Click "WWW Browser" Icon right from URL input line
   » Browser will be launched

Current behavior: At URL "http:///" an error message "Invalid URL" will be shown

Expected behavior: Document
file:///<LibreOfficeProgramFolder>/share/template/en-US/internal/url_transfer.htm
should be opened with some hints "Transferring Web Addresses"
as it does in AOO

Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.2.5.2 release

CONFIRMED. That's a bug: We should be using a different default url when we launch the browser.

> file:///<LibreOfficeProgramFolder>/share/template/en-US/internal/
> url_transfer.htm
> should be opened with some hints "Transferring Web Addresses"

I'm not sure I'd expect the button to open a local webpage. The tooltip I get for the browser button is "Open web browser, copy an [sic] URL, and paste it to the Target field".

What's in the file 'url_transfer.htm'? It doesn't appear to be present anywhere in the LibreOffice install.

Status -> NEW as there's at least one bug here. (plus the typo)

clearly not a MAB, looks to have been set in error when 81806 was added.

We’ve removed this button in 5.2 (see bug 98885) as it isn’t really helpful — it’s an overcomplication of the simple process of copying and pasting.
