Did not observe consistently, but sometimes when I change the n in the middle of the string in A1 to capital N, it changes it back.
Once I even got this: changed last n to N, changed middle n to N, both changed back to lowercase.

This is all because of:
Menu Tools > AutoCorrect Options > Options > Correct accidental use of cAPS LOCK key

As there is a specific setting for this, I'm not sure this behavior can be considered a bug, or whether there is some potential enhancement.

The AutoCorrect / AutoInput settings are not well-known, and when users see that the text that was introduced is "automagically" modified, they see it as a problem.

Workaround: changing AutoCorrect options, or disabling it altogether.

Beware: The effect is different when the same content is repeated in the same column. If cell A2 contains "hgzn545bbn", then the effect when modifying cell A1 is different than when cell A2 is empty.

Hmm... Disabling AutoInput altogether worked, but if I only disable the specific option (with AutoInput still enabled), then modifying "n" to upper case is still automatically modified again back to lower case. Again, as the current subject title says, this is all dependent on cell A2 containing the same (lower case) text.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding the specific option, or there is (still) a bug(?).
