Description vlhown 2012-10-30 07:48:34 UTC
Problem description: Text formatting like "_M@" does not apply to all cells in the selected range.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In the first column enter text values "aaa","bbb", etc.
2. In the second column enter text values "'111","'222", etc.
3. Select both columns and apply text formatting "_M@"

Current behavior: Only values in the second column are formatted.

Expected behavior: Values in both columns should be formatted.

Platform (if different from the browser): Also true for LO 3.5.5.3 Windows XP

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0

Do you have enabled "spellcheck while typing" (=redline)?

Type a word without errors and it should indent as expected. If you need a text, which is not a valid word, then set its spell check to "ignore all" or set the language to "none".
Comment 2 vlhown 2012-11-01 13:14:35 UTC
OK. What about if I need to have correct words in some cells and incorrect in others? Disable spell checking is not solution, it is a trick.

On the screenshot selected cells have text format "_M@", spell checking is enabled.

I don't know whether it's a bug or enhancement request?
Comment 7 Joel Madero 2014-01-17 03:17:54 UTC
Ubuntu 13.10
LibreOffice 4.2.0.1 RC

Works fine here, marking as WFM

@vlhown - if this is still an issue for you with 4.2 when it is released, please set it back to Unconfirmed

The bug exist with the recommended version:
Version: 4.1.6.0.0+ Build ID: 873be8f3ff28fd06b531b17d2c7cc41cbc1385e

Seems fixed in:
Version: 4.2.0.2 Build ID: cd65d6220c5694ee7012d7863bcde3455c9e3c30

Changed the status to REOPENED,
No option for change the version to 4.1.6 (4.1.5 freeze).
Comment 9 Joel Madero 2014-01-22 02:34:35 UTC
Again - this is protocol. Marking as WFM. For non crasher bugs we're not going to ask devs to spend time digging through commits to back port unless there is a really pressing need to do so. Here there is not. Please do not update without knowing procedures - if there are concerns, email qa list and we'll be happy to help
Comment 10 Joel Madero 2014-01-22 02:50:07 UTC
also version field is never to be updated to newest version - it reflects the oldest version where the bug is seen not that it still exists on a newer version
Comment 11 vlhown 2014-02-03 05:16:12 UTC
Version: 4.2.0.4
Build ID: 420m0(Build:4)

Bug is fixed: formatting is applied to both columns. Thanks.
