Description Anduril 2022-02-09 09:57:57 UTC
Hi,
I am experiencing an odd behavior.
After some time (maybe after the Mac goes to sleep) fodt and odt are not opened any more from Finder. If I close and open LO. They will be opened again.

Mac Os Monterrey 12.1

  Nome modello:	Mac mini
  Identificatore modello:	Macmini9,1
  Chip:	Apple M1
Numero totale di Core:	8 (prestazioni 4 ed efficienza 4)
  Memoria:	16 GB

@Anduril : is it just flat ODF files, or any openable file type ?
Comment 2 Anduril 2022-02-15 12:19:20 UTC
Thank you, Mr. Thurgood, now everything works again. What I did (more than once) is right click on fodt or odt files (it was happening only with those) and changing the default program twice, which I think resetted some wrong file opening association in MacOs. Sorry if I am not able to reproduce.

Thanks for the feedback !

Unfortunately, be prepared to have to do this again in the future.

It is one of those minor, but intensely irritating bugs that affects LibreOffice on macOS (like files not loading when you double-click on them in Finder, and MO isn't yet running, and instead just get the StartCenter).

Setting this to WFM (worksforme).

If you experience the same in the future, and you can reliably reproduce it, I would encourage you to either file a new report detailing how to reproduce it, or else re-open this one with a step-by-step instruction for reproducing the issue.

Hi,
the issue appeared again. It happened with an odt file. We are working in a team and I am using the following LO version:

Version: 7.1.8.1 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: e1f30c802c3269a1d052614453f260e49458c82c
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 10.16; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: it-IT (it.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

While the other member is using:

Versione: 6.4.7.2
Build ID: 639b8ac485750d5696d7590a72ef1b496725cfb5
Thread CPU: 4; SO: Mac OS X 10.14.6; Resa interfaccia: predefinito; VCL: osx;
Versione locale: it-IT (it_IT.UTF-8); Lingua interfaccia: it-IT
Calc: threaded

After the member opened (without changes) an odt file I could not open it any more. He also changed an fodt file, but I could open that.

We did two tests: He made a copy of the file that will not be opened from finder and saved it and I could open that. (Test2)
He created a new odt (Test) and I can open it as well.

I can open all these files from within Libreoffice or using the trick described in the first report.
I can also provide you with the file that is not opening if you assure me of confidentiality.

@Anduril : unfortunately, I don't think I can help you with this - all of us are using different versions of LibreOffice and your colleague and you are using different versios of macOS, which may bring its own specific issues on top of this one.

I will reset it to UNCONFIRMED though.

Thank you @Alex Thurgood, Update: I renamed the file and I can now open it. Then I undid the renaming, but I can still open it.
