"but with the black background colour it is not visible."

How do you set the background to black? Page, paragraph, Document background (Application Colors)?

What is "division stripe"? "over", "frac", "/"?

Aditional info e-mailed by @Silex:

Alt F12 / aplication colors / application background: “black”
Alt F12 / aplication colors / letter color: “white”
D’ont work in formula / anchor: “paragraph” and “to the character”
  Work well: “as character”

For LibreOffice 7.1.8.1 on Windows 10, the formula remains all black.

@Silex: Can you add an attachment with the formula. Thanks.

When I (LeroyG) open the file, I can see all three formulas in a greenish white color.
While I edit a formula, I see it in white color.
After leaving edit mode for each formula, it becames all black.

If I create a new file with a formula, formula shows all black, no matter if I reload it.
Comment 5 LeroyG 2022-01-25 12:39:28 UTC
Version 7.1.8.1
The formula retains the Font color set when it was last edited.
If Font color (Alt+F12 - LibreOffice - Application Colors) value is Automatic, formulas are shown in black.
Change Font color to Green: all text shows in green, but formulas remains black.
Edit a formula, and it becomes green also.
Change Font color to Red: all text shows in red, but formulas remains black and green (as shown previously). Edit a formula, and it becomes red.
Comment 6 LeroyG 2022-01-26 01:15:51 UTC
If Font color (Alt+F12 - LibreOffice - Application Colors) value is White, formulas are shown in black.

Reproducible also with:
Version: 7.1.8.1 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: e1f30c802c3269a1d052614453f260e49458c82c

For Font Color values of Automatic, White and Light Yellow 4, the formula is shown in black.

There may be other light colors with the same result.

Thumbnail of the document in the start center

It can be seen the lines 1, 2 and 4 of the table with black font color.
Comment 11 LeroyG 2022-01-26 17:13:25 UTC
In the sample file attached at comment 4, toggling the Edit Mode (Ctrl+Shift+M) make all formulas take the actual font color.

Not reproducible in the sample file attached at comment 7.

Dear Silex,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
