Description DKG 2022-01-12 11:42:59 UTC
Description:
Version: 7.2.3.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: d166454616c1632304285822f9c83ce2e660fd92
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU); UI: en-US
Calc: CL

Trying to open for viewing/editing a received DOCX file with a kind of letterhead containing some text, an image and a table, I see nothing. When opening in MS Word 2016 (well, no surprise) and in Apache OpenOffice 4.2.0 (for the reference, it is an ancient development build dating back to 2015 or so), the letterhead is fine.

I raised the issue at the ask site: https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/text-table-image-in-docx-file-not-visible-in-lo-but-ok-in-aoo-and-word/72598 , and it was confirmed by others stating that LibreOffice Navigator shows an empty OLE object (Object1) that hides a part of the document. However, since no such thing appears in Apache OpenOffice.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached file testcase.docx

Actual Results:
The document appears blank (as on the attached screenshot from LibreOffice).

Expected Results:
There should be text/table/image (as on the attached screenshots from Microsoft Office Word and Apache OpenOffice).

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Properties of the object in Word 2013 and Writer

Confirming the issue in:

Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 86b0753ca3a02d247b13f0a6654ae315ce3a044b
CPU threads: 13; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (hu_HU); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

The white image OLE object is set to Through wrap in Word, but this is imported incorrectly in Writer. To get the same layout the Through wrap option has to be set (this happens) and the In background property needs to be set (this does not).

Manually checking In background shows the hidden objects correctly.

This document is also in compatibility mode with VML markup used.

I can reproduce this already in version 6.1 on Windows 10
