Description Howard Johnson 2017-11-07 21:30:09 UTC
Description:
Moving the focus to select the entire current record just after changing a check box field (yes/no type) not only correctly sets the focus to the entire current record, but also accidentally affects any just edited check box, usually toggling it, or depending on the prior state toggling the null status of it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached file (Record selector yes no bug.odb)
2. Open Table1 (to edit the data in it)
3. Click Ok? to toggle the check mark on record ID 0. (You have to click it twice to get it to check the first time, ... another bug for another day.)
4. After changing the check mark, then click just left where the yellow pencil is to select the entire first record.

Actual Results:
Notice that the check box gets unchecked.

Expected Results:
Edits should not get changed simply by moving the focus.

Reproducible: Always

HSQLDB to demonstrate the bug

Bug appears to be independent of the connected data base, i.e. it is the same in HSQLDB1.8 and MySQL/JDBC.

Comment 3 Alex Thurgood 2017-11-09 12:53:32 UTC
The checkbox has always had 3 possible states in Base: unset (null), true, and false. This might explain why the first click doesn't appear to change the visual status of the checkbox.
Comment 4 Alex Thurgood 2017-11-09 13:01:08 UTC
I can only reproduce this the very first time that I select the checkbox and move to the tuple header. I was unable to reproduce the strange behaviour in subsequent select/deselect operations.

Thanks Alex. Play with it a little more. Mark a check box, then select the whole same record, and it will uncheck the box.
