Description Kotaro Osada 2017-09-04 16:32:06 UTC
Description:
When I try to edit distance of shadow of newly created shape,
first press of Backspace or Delete cannot delete characters in the editbox.

When I use arrow keys to move the caret left or right before trying to delete
charaacters, characters aren't deleted by the first press of Backspace
or Delete after using arrow keys.

After typing some characters (numbers) in the shadow distance field,
first press of Backspace or Delete after that can delete characters as expected.

In the shadow angle field, without typing numbers or other characters,
first press of Backspace or Delete can delete characters as expected.
After editing angle, first Backspace or Delete in the shadow distance field
can delete characters as expected, but just focusing to angle field
before focusing to distance field couldn't make the first press work.

I also tried selecting multiple characters in the distance field and
pressing Backspace key. The result is similar: the characters aren't deleted
in the first attempt, but are deleted in the second attempt.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Impress from the Start menu.
2. Click "Rectangle" button in the tool bar and put a rectangle.
(arbitrary size and position is OK)
3. In the property of the rectangle, turn on check for "enable" in "shadow"
4. Click just right of "6" (before "pt") in the "distance" field
   and put a caret there.
5. Press Backspace key.

Actual Results:
The caret moves left without deleting the character "6".

Expected Results:
The character "6" is deleted.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Tested with LibreOffice 5.4.1.2 (x64) on Windows 7 x64.
According to my memory, this bug should be reproduced with
LibreOffice 5.3, Windows and Mac OS X version.

I can confirm the described behavior. It seems, that it is there since implementing the Shadow part in the sidebar. I see this wrong behavior in Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: c614e711136205252ac2c72f9772c718dafc471e
TinderBox: Win-x86@62-merge-TDF, Branch:MASTER, Time: 2015-08-12_20:36:06
Locale: de-DE (de_DE)

It is only a small annoyance.

Dear Kotaro Osada,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword
