This description comes from writing several books (200... 300 pages) with OpenOffice / LibreOffice I use anchoring to page in the final step of the document production in order bind pictures etc. firmly to a certain place of the document. I tried and discussed al lot of other methods of anchoring but all of them are very sensitive against minor changes in formatting and do not gurantee reliable results. Anchoring an object to the page of a document means in fact anchoring it to the page number. If I have picture anchored to page 2 of my document at a fine place in the text and I add a new page after the actual page one then the pictute is still anchored to page 2 which now is a new empty page and the tect is on page 3 far away from the picture belonging to it. In my opinion it would be a better and more useful solution to keep the picture on the new page 3. The same would apply for deleting pages.
Please attach a simple test case (simple as in 2-3 pages, not a 200 page book :) ) and then set the bug to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks

Comment on attachment 126194 [details] Start state Three attachments 1: Start state 2: after insertion of a page, pictures are still on pages 1 and 2 of the document. 3: As suggested: An empty page is entered between the two pages. The pictures now are on pages 1 and 3. This feature would be helpful when adding extensions in the final phase of a project. It is similarly implemented in Adobe InDesign. I see it as an additional feature not as an substitute for the existing one.
