Version: 4.4.3.2 Build ID: 88805f81e9fe61362df02b9941de8e38a9b5fd16 Locale: is_IS I experienced today that when creating a few queries and shifting between query and tables and at the same time working with calc (documenting the tables and such) that Libreoffice started to crawl (with hickups) and then when trying to save a query, crashed. Libreoffice was not able to remedy the file. Later I was looking into how LO did its backups. To my amazement it had created some 11,566 numbered backup copies, up to number 1008 with contents (intact!) and the rest (over ten thousand!) with zero contents. I like that it creates backups, but there should really be more than a few seconds between them! :-) This backup frenzy my Libreoffice had today was the reason why it went to a crawl and finally crashed. I don't have the faintests idea why and I do not have the time to try to recreate the situation.
Should the component be Base? Or are you working with Basic macros? Where did you find those backups? We need more information to confirm the issue, so I think this has to stay in NEEDINFO, while you get more time to reproduce it and present clear steps with hopefully even test case documents.
Beluga, Thanks for caring. The backups were where they are supposed to be: C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\backup (Fill in [User] with user name.) Yes, there should be more time between them. Only one other file seems to have been backed up like this, only a few copies, though. Also a Base file. The originals reside on Dropbox and I am aslo working on those from another system at a different location (work). Does Base have a problem with Dropbox? Regards, Bodvar

After later updates (LibreOffice and/or Windows 10 updates) this problem has not come up again. So I consider it solved.
