Description R. Ouellette 2015-04-16 18:01:46 UTC
Close to bug 43023 [https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43023], it is now impossible (or at least inconsistent) to drag from the navigator as copy or as link from document A to documewnt B.

The result is an empty section (a rectangular empty box). You can't undo the drag (as shown in bug 43023) and you need to use the format menu > section, to remove the section (or via the navigator > section > edit).

This is a regression as I can drag as hyperlink, as link or as copy in pre 4.4 LibreOffice (4.3 and less). Tested with the same documents on 4.4.x and 4.3.x under Ubuntu Linux 64 bits. I use the official TDF deb packages and not the distro's one.

I followed the instructions in the desc of bug 43023.

Heading drag copies/links the whole document.
Table drag doesn't work (empty rect).
Image drag doesn't work (nothing).

I can drag text (headings with content below) as link and as copy in 5.0.0.2 on Ubuntu 32 bits

I still get the same results as in my comment 1

I cannot confirm that this is a regression. As there are a couple issues in the bug I focused just on the copy a table from navigator issue. Tested all the way back to 3.5 and couldn't confirm the regression.

Requesting independent confirmation that this is a regression - if that is done, feel free to request the bibisect again.

Thanks.

Hmm, now that I tested with 4.3, I cannot drag headings, tables or images as links or copies.

Win 7 Pro 64-bit, Version: 4.3.0.1

Indeed. In LibreOffice 3.3.0 one can drag a hyperlink from a table and an image.
No link nor copy.

The same is true in Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+

So it's an enhancement request.
