Description Sam 2015-03-17 04:03:04 UTC
Hi,

Libre Calc and Writer freeze often, making them unuseable.

I am devastated and am considering switching back to windows, simply for microsoft office, because I'm unable to complete simple tasks with LO.

Sometimes it will allow me to use the programs fluently and without problem. Other times it will freeze on starting and settle down. Still other times it will freeze on starting and not settle down.

I've tried closing all programs down before using LO, resetting the computer, etc, none of the basic fixes make a difference, and the freezing appears to be quite random. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling LO from Ubuntu Software centre.

It's debilitating, making LO unfunctional.

Please help me resolve this

Hi Sam, thank you for reporting the bug.

To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you rename this LibreOffice user directory ( see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Default_location or http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/903/where-are-the-libreoffice-data-profile-files/ ) and re-test?
Comment 2 Sam 2015-03-18 02:05:14 UTC
As I understand it, you're asking me to rename my user directory for libre office?

That is done.

Changed "user" directory to another name. Reopened libre calc, froze immediately.

Going to reset computer and test again. Will report if anything changes, however assume freezing has continued if I don't update this post please

Screenshot selecting Menu/Tools

Attached screenshot of Menu, if you have e.g. calc open, Menu has more options but 'File' 'Tools' 'Help' is always there.

Sorry I forgot one selection step.
Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/View/Graphics Output.
