doing Mailmerge from a Writer doc, which I want to email as a PFD attachment to each email.

Everything works fine *except* the salutation on the outgoing cover email; as with the salutation for in-document, I am offered either the generic salutation or a general salutation, which allows me to edit. I do the edit, adding "Dear <First Name>," which has worked properly in the in-document salutation; I click OK and go to send my email, and everything works as expected, but the email salutation has dropped back to the Generic salutation with Mr <last name> & Mrs. <last name>.

I may be the only person using this particular feature, but I use it a lot and it would be grand if it worked!

Could not reproduce. The custom salutation is retained in both the email body and PDF file.

It appears mahfiaz changed this to needinfo without any comment. Maybe he was thinking you could attach an example file.

Sorry. I've now moved to LO 5.x, so will have to test again - I can raise another bug if this one is closed in the meantime.
