I inserted some graphics into some slides.

After reopening the file with LO 4.4.0.0 beta1

on one slide one photograph was shown a fraction of a second, then dissapeard , a picture frame is all, that is left.

On the second slide, the picture isnt shown at all, with a pictureframe left too,

LO 4.3.4.1 opens the file correctly an display the photographs.

SCREENSHOT shows preview with grafic,
on slide just placeholder frame

Hi Karl,

Can you join a sample document showing this issue and precise your OS, please?

@Karl, *

We'll need to know the OS you are using, as well as the type of image files that are not being rendered.

Would be helpful if you can post up the problem .ODP, or a test example if you can not post the original.

testfile

Windows 7, x64

The pictures were made with the windows "snipping tool".
Then these were copied (in snipping tool" and "pasted" in impress.

I cant remember wether i used "as gdi metafile" ??

OK confirming there is an issue with 4.4.0.0 beta1

On Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha2
Build ID: 24f0a5815f581dd9a7f09d30213a379edee6e9ac
The PNG inserted into slide 2 and slide 3 are fine, is that what you see?

But on
Version: 4.4.0.0.beta1
Build ID: 9af3d21234aa89dac653c0bd76648188cdeb683e
Locale: en_US

The two PNG are no longer behaving, briefly showing but then showing only the outline. They images behave like WMF/EMF and do not respond to the "Save Image..." context menu entry.

Seems like with Version: 4.4.0.0.beta2
Build ID: be92f32b8f21603a6b7a75dd645f7475bdee519d
Locale: en_US

The PNG are back and behaving. No idea of the commits that might have tweaked that.

So, would you please install the 4.4.0.0 beta2 and test there. If good with the beta2, please set this Resolved WorksForMe.

As an aside--you weren't having an issue with slide 1 were you?
For us on opening the test Impress presentation, the four OLE objects on slide 1 will not open because the ../Tab1.ods they are linked to is not present.

LO 4.4.0 BETA 2 works for me !

Slide ONE was NOT the prob to solve.

Allthough i set it to "Resolved WorksForMe" i ask the developers:

One (or more) might check all the ways to embed graphics into slides
(copy / past, drag and drop, insert as gdi ... and so on)

These could create a "help item" that enlights all the ways and some of the internals of LO, to be understood by the users.

(As well it would create developer documentation, if the code then is overseen by the way)

That doing could -i guess- lift eventually some related bugs to daylight.

"MISSING PICTURES" seems to me a MEAN and long time "feature" of LO.

The actual bug filing "missing ... missing", which seems to be years old and shows the NEED.

kind regards to the developers.
