Created attachment 100106 [details] Page Options tab page in writer (pt-BR locale) Problem description: StringArray ItemList items are no longer translated. Steps to reproduce: 0. Choose a language different to English, for example pt-BR 1. Open writer. 2. Go to Format -> Page -> Page 3. Choose a paper format from the dropdown list (See screenshot) Another example: Open math -> Tools -> Catalog - The dropdown list shows only English entries. Also the symbols are not localized (alpha should be alfa in pt-BR). Current behavior: The list items are not translated. This works well with 4.2. Investigation: Take RID_SVXSTRARY_PAPERSIZE_STD (cui/source/tabpages/page.src) for example. Or starmath/source/symbol.src which is responsible for the Symbol catalog in math. When I grep for pt-BR alpha (is alfa) in workdir (--with-lang=ALL), there are no hits: grep 'alfa' workdir/*/starmath/source/symbols.src Operating System: All Version: 4.3.0.0.beta1 Last worked in: 4.2.4.2 release
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I can reproduce this (French UI)
It seems that Pootle contains wrong pot files. All languages are affected but Slovenian, who don't use Pootle. 'make translations' in libreoffice-4-3 branch generates pot files. In my tree I get the following entry: #. pBpLj #: symbol.src msgctxt "" "symbol.src\n" "RID_UI_SYMBOL_NAMES\n" "alpha\n" "itemlist.text" msgid "alpha" msgstr "" In Pootle I see the following: #. DoRHE #: symbol.src msgctxt "" "symbol.src\n" "RID_UI_SYMBOL_NAMES\n" "1\n" "itemlist.text" msgid "alpha" msgstr "" Note, that IDs are different. It was changed from 4.2 to 4.3, because identifying list elements by numbers was error prone. See: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/l10ntools?id=46d0619b547a0decb6dfa8836d1ad63c90ef2f9a @Cloph: can you please check how you generated pots and update Pootle?
It's been fixed by an update in Pootle.
