Problem description: A chart created in a Calc sheet using 4.1 versions, cannot be edited in in 4.2.4. Neither sheet nor file is protected against changes. I observed it so far on all charts created and/or edited in versions =< 4.1.6. I typically start with with an x.y.4 version until the end of a family and switch than the next family. Steps to reproduce: 1.Click on a chart that green squares appear at the edge 2. Right click on the chart so that the context menu opens 3. Item "Edit chart" is not to be seen or 1- Double click on a chart 2. Nothing happens except that the charts show green squares around the edge. The normal dark gray frame with black little squares does not show up. Current behavior: Charts created in versions =< 4,1,6 cannot be edited in 4.2.4.2 Updating data results in correct display of the new data Expected behavior: Charts created in previous version can be edited. Operating System: Windows XP Version: 4.2.4.2 release Last worked in: 4.1.6.2 release
would you please provide a minimal test case?
NEEDINFO per comment 1.
Test set is not possible. I don't have 4.1.6 anymore installed and the charts I have contain confidential information. I am sorry for that.

Well, you can install LibreOffice side-by-side using portable version or http://flosmind.wordpress.com/libreoffice-server-install-gui/. As for the confidential information, please replace the sensitive data according to https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FAQ#How_can_I_eliminate_confidential_data_from_a_sample_document.3F. Please be advised that without reproducible test case bug cannot be fixed.
Thanks for the hint with the portable versions. I used 4.1.4 and could not confirm the bug. When I see the problem again I will try to identify by the time the file was saved last which LibO version I most likely used. The spread is large as I started at about 3.4. and change when the 3rd digit is 4.
I made some further tests with protable versions 3.6.5 and 4.0.6 but canNOT confirm the bug. This means that there is another parameter involved which I did not see. Unfortunately I have repaired a lot of charts already. Should find again such a file I will try to sanitize a copy and attach it here. Please not that this can take a while until I accidentally find such a file again. I will do my best.

I did not find any old chart which showed this bug. And as mentioned in earlier comments, I cannot reproduce the but anymore as I can only run portable versions. I do not see any chance to provide a test case from my side Maybe we should give up on this bug.
