Description Joel Madero 2014-04-20 20:22:14 UTC
Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open new writer document
2. Insert -> Manual Break

Observed: Style is set to [NONE] which makes no sense

Expected: Style should be default style, because even if you insert based on "none" the style is set to default style.

Doesn't that depend on the current page style?

NONE = Ctrl+Enter
A choice is setting the attribute in Format > Parapragh > Text low ... Manual break, Page Style.

Sure - but you never have NONE style. If the current style is "default style" then when putting in a page break the default selection should be also "default style" not "[NONE]"

Do a Ctrl+Enter and look at Format > Parapragh > Text flow ... Manual break ..

@Windows daily build there is only the style [None]. (Expected: Endnote, First page, landscpae etc...). Maybe a bigger problem??

worksforme/wontfix/invalid.

style "none" in manual page break setting means "don't force a page style, but use whatever regular text-flow would give".

I.e. if you have left and right page styles that have the setting to use the other as following page style, you would have

right
left
right <insert manual break with "none" here>
left
right

now if you add more text/delete text around it you would have

right
left <manual page that formerly was on right page>
right
left

If however you would enforce one (i.e. not choose "none", but choose left or right", then you would get

right
left
right <insert manual break with "left" style here>
left
right

insert/remove text, so that the manual break moves on the other page

right
left <manual break that formerly was on right page>
empty right page (printing of those empty pages can be disabled in options)
left
right

so → worksforme

re "Sure - but you never have NONE style." (in format|paragraph)
→ yes you do. That is when the box to switch to a page-style is not ticked.

Forcing page-style to default is different from not enforcing a page-style.

only offering "none" needs to be separate bug (no mutating issues)
