You really should do something about this awful component. It is intolerable to have files saved then be unable to edit them. There is no way I can find to remove this feature: the MS advice is to do it through Files > Properties, but the read-only box is usually unticked, and this makes no difference. I know there is a rationale for having the facility, but that does not apply to me as a sole user, so I do want to REMOVE it. Please tell me in plain English how to do it. Which LO version are you running? Also from your description I don't understand the issue. Please provide proper steps to reproduce the problem.
This is the version: Version 4.0.5.2 (Build ID: 5464147a081647a250913f19c0715bca595af2f) Its quite simple: I do not want files to be saved as 'Read only' - how can I stop it? If I open a blank .odt document and save it is not saved as read-only. tested on Win7 using LibO 4.1.3.2 I suspect a corruption of your user profile. try resetting it (backup first) following instructions here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile tell us if it fix things or not.
I set status to RESOLVED WORKSFORME since the reporter sent me a private mail telling the the issue is gone after resetting the user profile
