How to reproduce (as per Bug 51072):

1. download sample document 
   <https://issues.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=77775>
   from AOOo bug
2. open it using LibreOffice

Result: major freezes/lags

Tested using Linux Mint 15 x64 with LibreOffice Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+

Opens/displays fluently using Linux Mint 15 x64 with LibreOffice 4.0.3.3 -> so regression.

Might be related/introduced by the cherry-picked patch for Bug 51072

Opening it using Version: 4.1.0.0.beta1
Build ID: 3a2c2d2417101e45fe07cfd8358acf2204a98f3 , which contains fix mentioned in Comment 1 ... result in a fluent behavior... so, nothing to do with that fix.

Okay ... still reproducible with my build (see Description) ...

But not reproducible with LibreOffice Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
