Description pierre-yves samyn 2012-06-30 04:45:48 UTC
Hello

Steps to reproduce:

1. File> New> Spreadsheet
2. Select A1, Format> Conditional formatting> Conditional Formatting...
3. Click Add
4. Click to open the styles listbox

Actual result :
Styles list opens by default on ... "Default", which seems to be the first item

Expected result:
The list should display "New Style".

The list is now the only way to "New Style". User has to scroll up to see this functionality and, as it is new, user will not know this feature exists.

Platform:

Windows7 64 bits & Version 3.6.0.0.beta2 (Build ID: f010139)

Regards
Pierre-Yves

IMHO the problem is a more general one "Allow creation of new style from Conditional formatting. Has there been any conclusion that that should be done by a "New Style" in the styles pulldwon and not by an extra button?

Hello

Dear administrators, as you can see, the request for information was not addressed to me. The Issue is clear and unambiguous.

Rainer asked the question to the developer, design and UX teams... confirming the Issue.

Menu commands have changed, I give the following new steps to reproduce.

1. Open the attached spreadsheet SeveralStyle.ods
2. Select A1, Format> Conditional formatting> Condition
3. Click to open "Apply style" list

The result is shown in the attached screenshot StyleList.png
The first item of the list (New style...) is hidden.

User has to scroll up to see this feature and, may be, user will not know this feature exists.

Unfortunately I do not have a proposal to improve it.

Best regards
Pierre-Yves

I submitted a patch to review, see https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/14690

Jay: thought you might be interested in this one since it concerns ui for example if you think about another similar case.

Following Markus' comment on gerrit, let's put this one to WONTFIX
