Description earthboundman 2024-03-29 03:36:06 UTC
Description:
In LibreOffice 7.x such as the one I currently have running on MacOS, when pasting from websites into Writer, it would paste the font, color, style (bold, italic, etc.) and size of the original text. In the current 24.2 as I have on Windows 10, all text, whether default paste behavior or not, always pastes in the default Writer "Default Paragraph Styling", regardless of choosing Unformatted Text or not.

Steps to Reproduce:
Copy and paste from any website into LibreOffice.

Actual Results:
Pastes unformatted text.

Expected Results:
Pastes text similar to as seen in website and like 7.x.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
- This was a new install so no UserProfile issue.
- Checked for copy/paste options.

Thank you for reporting the bug, I copied a website to test, but I was not able to reproduce the unformatted texts.

Version: 24.2.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community

Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: CL threaded

Version: 24.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 6a064b1967e06e40be40817deff99d00c1a8554f
CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win

I'd like to note that I am running on Windows, that might be why I'm not facing any issues in terms of formatting.

Shows the expected result and the page from.

I am using Windows 10, this shows the page and how it is supposed to react in terms of paste behavior similar to the old version.

Thank you for reporting the bug, I was able to copy text from a website and paste it with the same font color and font style, which included hyperlinks. However, I did run into the same issue where the text pastes in Writer's default "Default Paragraph Styling". I'm using MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2 and the two following builds:

Version: 24.2.1.2 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: db4def46b0453cc22e2d0305797cf981b68ef5ac
CPU threads: 10; OS: macOS 14.1.2; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Master/Daily Build
Version: 24.8.0.0.alpha0+ (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: c4023d3ec604abfff38be2053e2989c7ec2ba8c1
CPU threads: 10; OS: macOS 14.1.2; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

I'm not sure if this a MacOS issue or not, but if anyone else can test this and let us know if they can reproduce what I'm getting that'd be extremely helpful.
