Description: I have an enormous diary with multiple sub-diaries: projects, companies, clients, friends, etc. I also have multiple research bibliographies: animals, plants, sexual selection, infanticide, etc. It would be very helpful to be able to tag paragraphs (or even longer sections) so that I can sort them by either date or alphanumeric; but then I could also sort them by the subcategory, so that I can pull together entries to review them as a unit. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Attempt to sort paragraphs how I would to in a utopia. 2. Discover that I live in reality, and can only sort alphanumerically. 3. Me: :<( Actual Results: Can't sort paragraphs by tags. Expected Results: I would love to sort paragraphs by tags. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Sorting paragraphs by tags would be hunky-dory.
Although I love the idea of LO being able to cover that kind of workflow, sounds like you are after Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) software. I think this kind of enhancement is out of scope for Writer, or should be implemented via extension or macro. You could try Taguette or QualCoder, which should allow you to tag then export the filtered paragraphs as a report, but if you are after a tool in which you can edit at the same time as tag, you might want to look for a journaling app with those features. Can you explain a bit more what your workflow looks like and why it would be preferable to have it implemented in Writer? Also wondering if you should be using a database for that instead of a text document.
