Description Michael Baumgartner 2024-03-14 11:09:45 UTC
Description:
I try to use the Libreoffice remote app on android. A connection with WiFi works without problems, but connecting over Bluetooth does not work.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connecting your (Linux) laptop with your (android) phone over Bluetooth.
2. Testing the connection e.g. send files from laptop to phone.
3. Opening a presentation with LibreOffice impress.
4. Opening the LibreOffice remote app on your phone
5. Choose your laptop in the Bluetooth tab

Actual Results:
Error message in the App:
"""
Connection failed

Make sure you have enabled remote control. Go to "Tools ⇾ Options ⇾ LibreOffice Impress ⇾ General" in LibreOffice Impress.

In case of Bluetooth pairing issues, please read the documentation supplied by your Operating System.
"""

Expected Results:
The app connects with LibreOffice on the laptop and can control the presentation.

Reproducible: Always

==== OS

==== App

org.libreoffice.impressremote 2.6.1 (30)
The newest version for the field here at bugzilla is "2.3.0". I cannot choose the 2.6.1 so I choose "unspecified".

=== LibreOffice Ask

First, I created a question at LibreOffice Ask.
https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/libreoffice-remote-android-does-not-work-with-bluetooth/101242
Actual it is still without an answer, so it is maybe a bug and not an error from my side.
Comment 1 Michael Baumgartner 2024-03-14 11:30:08 UTC
Because of the question "Did you try resetting your UserProfile?", I now try it with the safe mode, like it is described here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Help_wizard_(LibreOffice_5.3_and_newer)

I started LibreOffice with "sudo libreoffice --safe-mode", but in the safe mode it does not work in general. Also with Wi-Fi I get the error. I open the options in the safe mode to activate the remote, but it does not work.
