I seem to remember that Master Document Window was (even less than a year ago?) different. It had RED color in the menu, and perhaps even the "taskbar" (whatever) icon looked red while the normal Writer window looked blue.

Now, that was a good thing!! (If that really was like that : ))

At the moment, too, the Master Document window is different.
In the View menu, for example, there's no "Layout" menu item (too bad)...


Anyway, it'd be great to be able to set up a different toolbar... 
have a different icon in the task bar... 
and many more! :)

At this moment, I seem to have been able to set up a different toolbar! :)

Peter, I don't understand the problem. I can customize master document window in the same way than normal Writer window (besides using tabbed toolbar). And if you customize UI for normal documents it doesn't affect UI of master documents.

So could you plee specify the problem? => NEEDINFO

Additional information:
I can't see "Layout" entry in view menu, so it must be your costomization.
