Description Pedro Felgueiras 2023-12-29 17:25:29 UTC
Description:
It happens every time. I'm using LibreOffice Calc 7.6.3.2 on Ubuntu 22.04 (amd64) and I discovered a bug that isn't severe, but boring: basically, every time I open 'Properties' dialog box of my .xlsx documents (I don't know if this happens with Open document files...) by 'File' menu and close it, when I try to delete some line of my sheet, It takes much more time than if I hadn't opened 'Properties' dialog box. I don't know if line deletion is the unique action affected by this bug.
Again, that's not a severe bug that crashes the program, but bothers me a lot. The only solution I know for overcome this bug is to close the program and open it again.
Please fix this.
Thanks for your attention.

Best Regards and Happy New Year!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open any .xlsx file with any data
2. Go to 'Files' menu and click on 'Properties...' option
3. Navigate a bit on the opened dialog box and close it
4. Delete some line of your table and enjoy the bug

Actual Results:
Line deletion takes much longer

Expected Results:
Line deletion took the same time as if the 'Properties' dialog had not been opened.

Reproducible: Always

I think I might see some microseconds more spent with

Arch Linux 64-bit, X11
Version: 7.6.4.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 60(Build:1)
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.6; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8); UI: en-US
7.6.4-2
Calc: threaded

but it would be best for you to maybe attach an example file, where the delay is clearly shown. It might be related to the amount of data.

Also, do you see the delay both under X11 and Wayland? And in addition to gtk3, also kf5 and gen UI backends? Launch with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen libreoffice and SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kf5 libreoffice
