Description Juergen 2023-12-17 12:59:17 UTC
Description:
The object markers in Documents, Impress and Draw have lines that are much too thick. Precise adjustment and positioning is therefore a game of patience. Object markers should look like those in MS PowerPoint, for example.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Marc an object and you'll see what I mean.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Marc an object in Draw and you'll see.

Expected Results:
smaller lines für object marking

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
It is not a bug, but it makes the work much more difficult.

Have you enabled in Draw
Menu/View/Grid and Help lines/Help lines While moving.

Thank you. It's a little bit better but not the best.
However, the relatively wide object markings make it difficult to work with objects. This is okay for Impress and Writer. But for Draw and the creation of complex drawings, it is unfortunately a major obstacle. Please consider implementing it in a similar way to MS PowerPoint for one of the upcoming releases. I think many people would be happy about it.

Adjusting object markers in LibreOffice feels like playing a precision game; thinner lines, similar to MS PowerPoint, would make the process smoother.

For exact positioning use
the Position&Size dialog,
or set snap points or lines,
or use positioning relative to other object with the align-toolbar,
or enable snap to grid,
or use Alt+Arrow to move objects in pixel steps,
or use a large zoom.

When working in Draw it is helpful to show the "Options" toolbar, which collects some snap and grid toggles.
