Eyal, I'm sure you can try to reproduce this bug.
Comment 4 Eyal Rozenberg 2023-09-13 06:45:48 UTC
Well, I noticed this issue myself a few days back, and I even mentioned it on the LO Hebrew channel, which prompted Aviad to reopen this issue. And yet - strangely, now I can't reproduce.

Perhaps it only happens under certain conditions... I have to leave this as UNCOFIRMED for now, though.

Checked with both:

Version: 7.6.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 69edd8b8ebc41d00b4de3915dc82f8f0fc3b6265
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 6.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-IL (en_IL); UI: en-US

and:

Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: cc7d6211bc01e5ec84dbad542605d2e93dea925c
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 6.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: he-IL (en_IL); UI: en-US

I noted a difference between Amiad's setting and Eyal's -- Amiad was using a Hebrew (he-IL) UI, while Eyal's is en-US.

I tried both, and the bug did not reproduce.

Version: 7.5.6.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 50(Build:2)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.4; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: en-IL (en_IL.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Debian package version: 4:7.5.6-1
Calc: threaded

Version: 7.5.6.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 50(Build:2)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.4; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: en-IL (en_IL.UTF-8); UI: he-IL
Debian package version: 4:7.5.6-1
Calc: threaded

I tried even with Hebrew locale:

Version: 7.5.6.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 50(Build:2)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.4; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: he-IL (he_IL); UI: he-IL
Debian package version: 4:7.5.6-1
Calc: threaded

Nada.

Amiad, can you please test resetting your profile?
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

And do you switch your keyboard layout with LibreOffice open? Any difference if you close LibreOffice, change the layout, and open LibreOffice?
Comment 8 Amiad 2023-09-28 07:06:38 UTC
Yes, the bug still happen when I resetting the profile.

When I open and close LibreOffice it does not affect the keyboard layouts.

On more question:
Does doing the same switching and using Ctrl + V work as expected in other apps, like a basic text editor?? Just want to make sure it is specific to LibreOffice.
Comment 10 Amiad 2023-09-28 09:13:38 UTC
yes, in other apps ctrl+v work in Hebrew layout too.
I tried now on gedit.
