Created attachment 189195 [details] PDF with a localized formula using a font with localized numerals Description: In many languages, one of the features of a non-English document which contains math formulas is to use localized numbers. For example, in Persian (Farsi) language, using such localized numerals is a norm. But unfortunately many typesetting/office applications with the ability to write and edit formulas can not provide localized numerals. Neither LibreOffice, nor MS Word has such ability. On the other hand, LaTeX can do that. In LibreOffice and MS Word, people overcome this limitation by using special fonts that has localized numerals in place of the normal western numerals. This non-standard approach has its drawbacks. This is a feature request to have localized numbers using standard fonts. It should be possible to enable/disable this feature from "Tools > Options". Upon enabling, localized numbers should be used according to the language of the relevant context. For example, one may expect Persian numerals in a formula that falls inside a Persian language context.
Created attachment 189196 [details] ODT for the localized formula (non-standard font with localized numerals) This is the ODT file for the above PDF attachment using "B Nazanin" font. Please note that it is using a non-standard font that uses localized numerals specifically created for Persian (Farsi) language in place of western numerals.
