Description: Hi folks, this referres to my filed " bug " https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156694 I created a slide with " properties " 16:9 screen/ display format. Everthing was fine. When i printed the file to paper ( a german standard A4 / may each othe have the have the same result ) the position of the slide elements LOST there CENTRATION ( and where more positioned left and upper ). WHen I change the Slide Propperty to my paperformat, the elements are STRETCHED ! (may be on different formats it will be compressed or stretched also ). The elements loose herethrough their measurments and proportions! ================================================================= I do have a work arround ! ========================== I can 1 ) select ALL Elements, 2 ) cut them out 3 ) change Slide propperty to printing paper format 3 ) PASTE the elements back to the Slide Page RESULT :: At least Centering and proportion is HEALTHY ! ( If measurements are the same as like editingtime i did not proof yet ) SO MY REQUEST WAS !!!! THINK OVER the allgorithm, I found out as work arroung ============================================================================= MAY be with " ASKING the user IF TO DO SO " For Slide Pages from 1 to End DO { 1 ) select ALL Elements of page, 2 ) cut them out to " clipboard ? ) 3 ) change Slide propperty to printing paper format 3 ) PASTE the elements back to the Slide Page } _________________________________________________________ Its just a basik idea ! How to change slide format without stretching already existing objects: Slide > Slide Properties > tab Slide Uncheck the option "Fit object to paper format". That is located on the right side in section "Layout Settings". The request here is to have an additional option "Keep relative position to slide center." The current way is "Keep relative position to top-left corner of slide". Do I understand your request correctly?
Hi Regina, mein Englisch ist nicht so besonders. Es ist das " vermeintliche Problem ", dass typischer Weise DRUCK- und Presentationsformate ( Monitore / Beamer ) untzerschiedlich sein können, bzw. sind. Ich benutze Impress NUR privat um manchmal Dokus / Infos zu speichern. Und vergesse jedes mal vorher auf Papierformat umzuschalten. Die in " 16 : 9 " erstellte Presentation hat dann im Ausdruck auf Papier ein anderes Layout ! ==== DAS möchten vielleicht auch Gewerbliche Anwender NICHT ?! ==== Ich fand einen " work arround ", den ich gefunden habe ... ================================ Ich werde mal sehen, ob ich " finde ::" Slide > Slide Properties > tab Slide Uncheck the option "Fit object to paper format". ICH ( in meinem Fall ) DACHTE : Hat das Windows 10 Update schon wieder DAS PRINTING ZERSCHOSSEN ? ---------------------- In wie weit z.B. Längen / Höhen von Objekten in den Slides VERLOREN gehen, wäre zu untersuchen ... DA - WELTWEIT - unzählige Druck- / Papier formate existieren. könnte jeweils ein " SHRINKING " von LO durchgeführt werden ?? ============================================================== JA ! Als DEFAULT CENTER / CENTER was nice if Elements were centered ! Wenn ich drüber nachdenke !!! Wenn jemand " left side " anordnet ... WÄRE DER überrascht. ... right side - bottom - AS WELL ! ============================================================== Vielleicht wäre eine ABFRAGE " Wie wollen Sie es haben ? HI, i just checked your hint out. I have centered a square in 16:9 and called the printing dialog: I can see " in printing preview " the moving of the square toward " upper ". ( with unchecked " anpassen an papierformat " ( oder so ). gruss juergen

Let's summon the design team in case they have ideas. They know German, too.
STR: * add a shape with a size of 2 x 1cm * change slide properties from landscape to portrait -> with "Fit object to paper format" the object size changes to 1,37 x 1,46 cm -> all shapes keep their size without the option; textboxes keep their relative size resp. margins, which might be expected most often First of all, this option is not persistent and will be checked the next time this dialog opens. I doubt it works for printing. It's label and help is unclear "Resizes the drawing objects so that they fit on the paper format that you select. The arrangement of the drawing objects is preserved.", in particular the "arrangement is preserved". Ideally we place the checkbox near the paper format and disable it until attributes have changed. Reginas rephrased the request to "Keep relative position to slide center.". Makes sense to me. In fact the position changes from 1/2cm to 0.69/2.92cm if the "Fit object" option is checked and I wonder what exactly is missing. Hallo Ein Problem tritt auf, wenn man z.B. ein Element z.B. LINIE anlegt UND dazu BEMASSUNGS-ELEMENT ( wie in Technischen Zeichnungen ) anlegt. DA erkennt man den Effekt der (?) Transition von einem in das andere Format ( Bildschirm -> Ausdruck ) -> siehe upload LO-BUG-Scaling IMHO: ===== Während der Designphase werden die Elemente in " ihrem Format " angelegt. ANDERS ( so vermute ich ) in LO NICHT wie ( vermute ich ) in einem CAD System ( etwa AutoCAD ) in einem " INTERNEN FORMAT " ( vielleicht auch evtl. in TEX // Latex ) sondern " dieses Formal ist dann der " unterste Daten- und Element - Layer "! IN AutoCAD // TEX // Latex ( so vermute ich ) WÜRDEN die Elemente " auf die AUSGABE ( Bildschirm / Papier ) " RAUF- oder RUNTER - Scaliert. ------------- Allerdings NUR die Optische Darstellung ! NICHT die Eigenschaft ( z.B. LÄNGE ) Behauptung :: AutoCAD würde eine Strecke von 10 Metern auch auf Papier ( herunterscaliert auf Din A4 ) mit 10 Metern bemassen ! ------------ IN Impress ( ggfs. auch in Writer / etc. ) jedenfalls werden die OBJEKTE ( Abmessungen / etc. ) SELBST MODIFIZIERT ! ES findet NICHT STATT, dass von der EDITOR PHASE bei beliebigem Screen Verhältnis HIN ZUM AUSDRUCK ein " ledigliches skalieren " für eben die Papieranpassung durchgeführt wird. ============ NOCH INTERESSANTER wird es, wenn währen der Design- // Editor - Phase, das Format geändert wird. DANN !!! würde ich mit als sinnvoll vorstellen, dass ( die Objekte sind in dem TIEFSTEN DATENMATERIAL // Eigenschaften im System ) DASS ( Daten // Eigenschaften ) diese EBENSO erhalten bleiben UND ggfs. Hi Heiko & Regina & etc. too much to me ( especially in english / dont mind me // this ) I feel assured you got some " discrepancy " on " formatting changes ". what will ever occour, if one has a presentation ( live with screen ) and that one likes to hand out a printed document ( to reed afterwards ). ... too much to me to question about to be UX-advised best regards to all of you. karl ( who is in real Jürgen )
