Description ntuflorimond 2023-06-12 11:28:46 UTC
User has a file on a drive.
Drive gets full, save a few kb
User opens the Libre Office Text Document, adds some content and save
Content is bigger than the remaining space.

Stored file is a blank page.

STR:
1. Fill USB Drive 256 MB with arbitrary contents
2. Launch LibO, open writer document with size bigger than remaining
   small capacity on USB drive
3. Menu ˋfile → Save as → select USB Drive → [save]ˊ
» Expected: Error message, Save File Icon keeps status "unsaved"
     Actual: As Expected.

Additional Info:
----------------
a) LibO will create an empty document with correct name on full drive.

b) Not "all contents lost"
@reporter:
c) Please contribute system information (your OS, ...)
d) What behavior do you expect?
Comment 3 ntuflorimond 2023-06-12 18:00:17 UTC
OS is Windows
Drive is a shared folder on a private server with a limited size.

Expected behaviour is the warning message (which is not displaied in our case)

Since "LibO saves empty file if target disk is full", there is a loss of data, which is "not acceptable"

> OS is Windows

Windows 3.11 in Klingon language 😉?
We need really precise, detailed information how to reproduce the problem, please see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport. Especially steps how to reproduce containing every key press and every mouse click.
Not "we have some Computer here and LibO seems not to work as expected"

Please tell:
e) All details concerning "shared folder on a private server"
f) Your results trying in safe mode?
g) Your results using a newly created User Profile
h) eventually some more details how you access to that drive.
Simply "file / folder" or ftp, WebDAV, whatever else.
i) screenshosts or screencast might be useful.
