Description mrtoikka 2023-05-02 13:40:42 UTC
Description:
When using the arrow keys on the keyboard to move or navigate around a spreadsheet, the light blue highlingting around the cell doesn't update immediately with the change in the selected cell. The blue highlighting on the row and column does. And the text within the cell that should be highlighted shows up in the text bar at the top correctly. However, the cell highlighting is most times behind by 1 (still on the previously highlighted or selected cell). This behavior only seems to effect cells with text in them, using arrow keys to move around between cells elsewhere in the spreadsheet that don't have text don't appear to be effected.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new spreadsheet
2. Fill in some random data (none of the cells were longer than 2 words, ie. `Two Words`)
3. I had text in most cells from column A to D and rows 1 to 20
4. Trying to use the arrow keys on keyboard to navigate around

Actual Results:
On cells with text in them, most times, the highlighting of the cell is behind by 1 move (if pressing up on keyboard, the column, row, and text fields update immediately as expected, but the cell being moved to does not highlight). Pressing up again updates the column, row, text properly again, and the cell highlighting does move, but not to the correct cell (moves to the last correct cell)

Expected Results:
Light blue highlighting around a cell updates immediately upon pressing arrow keys to the proper cell.

Reproducible: Always

Can you please update to the most recent release in 7.5, and test again?
Thank you!

Sold the iMac so I can't test it anymore. Sorry.
Comment 4 Stéphane Guillou (stragu) 2023-06-05 15:01:27 UTC
I'm closing as "insufficient data" as you are not able to test a recent version. But if you can reproduce again on a different machine, please set back to "unconfirmed" (and if someone else can reproduce, please set to "new").
Thanks!
