Description Stanislav Horacek 2022-10-02 10:43:00 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a new Writer document.
2. Write or insert a composed character (written by pressing two keys - accent + character), e.g. "ó".
3. Insert a new bookmark by Insert - Bookmark - Insert.
4. Right-click on the left part of status bar with "Page X of Y".

Observed: Context menu with list of bookmarks is shown and the character "ó" is added to the text (i.e. the text is now "óó").

Expected: No character is added.

Observed on Ubuntu 22.04 with the Xfce desktop environment, Czech locale.

Checked for this daily build:
Version: 7.5.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 61f5c991a97de8990badfed6ef840941b5aa8c7f
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: cs-CZ (cs_CZ.UTF-8); UI: cs-CZ
Calc: threaded

However, I remember it also from 7.3 and 7.4 series and believe it did not happen there before.

Can't confirm with

Version: 7.5.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 8991cbb7986d3967bc6c3719d95254ff04428d1a
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: CL threaded

Context menu just displys "Bookmark 1" as entry

Where is the character added? To the document canvas? It doesn't appear anywhere for me.

Comment 3 Stanislav Horacek 2023-02-22 20:23:27 UTC
Yes, it is added to the document canvas.

I suspect this could be related to my system / desktop environment / locale settings, maybe not issue of LO itself.

Stanislav, could you please retest with actual version 24.2? Is the problem still present? Thank you.
