Created attachment 181388 [details] how page 2 looks in office
my issue: ** actual page 2 contains text and columns overlapping and incomprehensible ** desired: page 2 contains 3 columns without overlapping: see attachment how page 2 looks in office.jpg
Created attachment 181404 [details] Writer version 7.4.0.1 vs. MS Word 2016 (In reply to jindam, vani from comment #2) > how page 2 looks in office Ah! So your problem is on the second page, and the purple circle on your attachment 181385 [details] is just a red herring. FTR: the view on attachment 181388 [details] (from Google docs) is also wrong; MS Word 2016 gives three separate frames on the last page (two wide, one narrower). And in Version: 7.4.0.1 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 43e5fcfbbadd18fccee5a6f42ddd533e40151bcf CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: default; VCL: win Locale: en-US (ru_RU); UI: en-US Calc: CL the resulting view is as on my attachment here.
One more point to mention. Your system misses Calibri font (used in the document). It likely can have Carlito, though; and the latter is metrically compatible with Calibri. If you install Carlito, the text layout is expected to match the original layout. The frames used on the second page are positioned relative to the whole page; so regardless of the main text flow, the frames will stay on the same spot. That could explain why some text from the main text body overlaps the frames on your screenshot.
(In reply to Mike Kaganski from comment #5) > One more point to mention. > > Your system misses Calibri font (used in the document). attachment 181385 [details] top left shows font as Calibri. i have installed ttf-mscorefonts-installer. perhaps for some reason fonts are not updated. since issue is not repro 7.4, if possible please close this.
(In reply to jindam, vani from comment #6) > attachment 181385 [details] top left shows > font as Calibri. Exactly! And that piece allows to see that your system misses it. Because LibreOffice will show the font that is needed in this place anyway, but if it's missing, it will appear in italics. I wouldn't close it; my system is Windows one, with the needed fonts installed. If you can, please install the mentioned Carlito font, to check that with it, the display is as needed.

Because > LibreOffice will show the font that is needed in this place anyway, but if > it's missing, it will appear in italics. huh... anyhow installed fonts-crosextra-carlito and the issue disappeared.
(In reply to jindam, vani from comment #8) Thanks for testing! Closing NOTABUG then.
