Description Graham Mitchell 2022-02-11 09:13:17 UTC
Description:
Working with a simple spreadsheet on an Apple M1 Mac mini running current operating system. After a short period of working - approx 15-20 minutes, I get a warning dialog reporting that my system has run out of application memory. It shows list of running applications, and the memory they are using. LibreOffice is reported as using over 40GB or memory.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Launch Libreoffice calc
2.Open a spreadsheet file. In my case I'm using a file with approx 6000 rows of data and I'm cutting and pasting rows into new sheets in the file.
3.

Actual Results:
After a short period of working - approx 15-20 minutes, I get a warning dialog reporting that my system has run out of application memory. It shows list of running applications, and the memory they are using. LibreOffice is reported as using over 40GB or memory.

Expected Results:
I don't expect Libreoffice to crash/quit, and I don't expect to see warnings about excessive application memory being consumed. I do expect to be able to use the application.

Reproducible: Always

I don't know if it's the same cause, but it sounds similar to bug 125428.

Thanks for reporting this issue.
Could you please try with LibreOffice 7.3.1 from
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/ ?
