Description blaine.thornhill 2022-01-24 04:54:26 UTC
Description:
typing in writer results in characters not appearing until 2-5 seconds after typing when they where typed.

To eliminate the obvious, when this first started happening I tried reinstalling libreoffice. then I tried disabling opengl/opencl/smooth scrolling, etc. all of the 'common' fixes I read about in similar situations. then I tried a factory reset with fresh profile. problem persists even in a new install with a new writer document.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Libreoffice.
2. Create Writer doc.
3. Type. Watch words typed appear in slow motion.

Actual Results:
Slow motion typing.

Expected Results:
Real time responsiveness.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Windows 11?

I can confirm the same bug. I am using Microsoft IME for Japanese and English input. in Libre office 7.2.5.2 and for 7.3.0 the same problem occured. I tried installing 7.1.8 but this led to a different problem in that Japanese input was extremely lagging. Interestingly there is no lag when only using English (US) key board input rather than Microsoft IME (Japanese/English)

You need to write your OS. If Windows 11 likely a duplicate of bug 145963. Please test with master LO that will install separately to your working LO.
