Description Alexander 2021-08-25 01:01:31 UTC
Description:
Hello!
When I export some pages to pdf from LibreOffice Draw, there are some bugs:
1. No checking of pages range (for example, if I select page number 235 from the 10 pages document - no problem :)
2. If I use 'Selected' page from the dialog for the export, only first page of the document exports to the resulting file.
Pease, check these bugs.

Best regards!

Partially reproduced in

Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x86) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: d5e55d204b71710eb5eb5d2c683dd6698626df3c
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-GB (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

For the first bug, I entered a page number that was not within the page range of the document (I had 3 pages and entered that I want to export page 5). I did not get an error message until after I attempted to save the document to my pc. There is a delayed check for the page range.

For the second bug, I used the "Selection" option under "Range" when exporting to PDF. I had three pages and only selected the 2nd and 3rd pages to export, but all 3 pages were exported.

Note: one issue per report.

Your second issue is bug 33982

Let's keep this for the first proposal and change summary accordingly. Let's ask what UX team thinks about erroring early regarding an out-of-range situation.

The PDF export dialog is even better in this regards then print as it shows an error message! Try print with "(o) Pages = Hello World" - print to file asks for a filename but doesn't create any and on the next start you get the print dialog badly initialized and printing is not possible.

Back to the question: For proper usability the user input needs to be checked on every keypress. If the range is impossible to print or export we have to disable the confirmative button (Print/Export).

Trivial issue with no damage. I'll set Enhancement.
