Description PeeWee 2021-05-03 11:33:46 UTC
Description:
The dialog name for User Interface needs to be changed to an easily identifiable title.
Two options should be renamed to make them less confusing when being selected.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to View > User Interface on the Menu bar to open the Select Your Preferred User Interface dialog.
2. Select Standard Toolbar or Single Toolbar.

Actual Results:
1. Go to View > User Interface on the Menu bar to open the Select Your Preferred User Interface dialog.
2. Select Standard Toolbar or Single Toolbar.

Expected Results:
1. Go to View > User Interface on the Menu bar to open the Select Your Preferred User Interface dialog.
2. Select Standard Toolbar or Single Toolbar.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The Select Your Preferred User Interface dialog to be renamed to UI Variant dialog.
The Standard Toolbar option to be renamed Standard and remove any confusion.
The Single Toolbar option to be renamed to Single and remove any confusion.

Sorry, don't see how this might change or improve things in any sense.

And, remember that these labels must be "localized" along with the rest of the user interface.

The use of the word "Toolbar" in the option name can cause confusion to a user. I am experienced with LibreOffice being one of the Technical Writers on the LO Documentation Team and I got confused with these option names using "Toolbar".
Standard Toolbar is a separate toolbar that is only one part of the standard user interface.
Changing the user interface is about the whole of the user interface, not just toolbars.
The actual name for the dialog looks very amateurish as if this concept of changing user interface has not been thoroughly thought out. The dialog should be titled with its purpose UI Variants or Changing User Interface.

> The use of the word "Toolbar" in the option name can cause confusion...
Renaming was discussed sometimes before, for example in bug 125009. I'd favor non-technical names like Berlin, Redmond, Beijing.

> ...option names using "Toolbar".
Single is going to be removed from the set and we will have only one Standard Toolbar. Making this a duplicate.
