Description Unin Filtrado 2021-04-20 09:29:50 UTC
Description:
Having to open a file in Calc, copy the content and paste it is just not the way importing works.

It also makes it almost impossible to import large files or to make the process manageable.

Request: An "import file" feature for Base that allows users to import files into tables.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to file
2.Notice the lack of "Import file" feature
3.Get upset.

Actual Results:
1.Go to file
2.Notice the lack of "Import file" feature
3.Get upset.

Expected Results:
There should be a file, import file, and a wizard to select what and how to import.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
This should have been done with the first version of Base that ever came out.

One way is to import it to Calc and copy the content afterwords. The other way is to create a database for text files, which will show all *.csv-fiels in a folder. This tables could be copied the same way.

The report here is a ask for Enhancement. So I will set it to New.

If I have to import external data in *.csv-files very often I would manage this through macros. So I wouldn't need a separate wizard for importing such a file.
