I can't confirm it

Steps to group all freeforms
1. Select one freeform
2. If pointer changes to an arrow draw a rectangle, that includes all freeforms
3. Move pointer so that it changes from arrow to "line" (don't know the correct english word)
4. Open context menu and group objects

Telesto, are you able to reproduce this?
= NEEDINFO

Perhaps steps could be improved (it's annoying, that deselect all objects, if you open context menu when pointer is an arrow).

This bug report indeed needs an overhaul. I attempted to drag around the shapes (assuming those be selected). This wasn't the case, I some point I started Shift+ Clicking elements (but well those elements are not evenly distributed.. So not really an option..

Ultimate I found that select an Item and drag would work (what I actually tried was Shift drag square after clicking. Not simple drag after clicking an object.

So I had a hard time to get what I wanted.. next question is.. me that stupid or this having really specific workflow.

Select the full shape & paste it into Draw.. Now you can drag around the same to get a selection.. this is actually what I would desire/expect. But well Draw canvas is not writer canvas, so no clue if this doable

I agree that the way to group shapes should be improved. I've also searched for hlp about it, but couldn't find anything.

Telesto, do you agree, if we change component to documentation?

For me this works very well.

Help about grouping objects: https://help.libreoffice.org/7.4/en-GB/text/sdraw/guide/groups.html?&DbPAR=WRITER&System=WIN but perhaps its need to be updated. So again I propose to change component to documentation
