but are not specific to gtk3, e.g. 
a) accessibility issues which go unnoticed on other backends where a11y either doesn't work or is typically disabled/inactive
b) problems with storing the selection on exit, which isn't implemented in the other Linux vclplugs, but is on at least Mac
