xlsx1

This file has many differences when opened on LO compared to MS Free Excel viewer, in the first page for example text is cut on the header

Hi @ekari,

I can't see the text cut on the header, change a bit with the option Menu/Tools/LibreOffice calc/General - Use printer metrics for text formatting.

What I see.

Win10x64
Version 5.1.4.2

Please try resetting the user profile, sometimes solves strange issues.

Usually it's enough renaming/deleting the file "user/registrymodifications.xcu", it affects all the options in Menu/Tools/Options, and the files "user/basic/dialog.xlc" and "scrip.xlc" are overwritten, additionally custom colors in "user/config/standard.soc" are lost.
Comment 4 E.Mi 2016-06-30 22:39:28 UTC
I have deleted the whole libreoffice hidden . directory thus removing any user configuration and the problem persists, besides your screenshot shows also a problem of letter O. being rendered in a different place compared to MS office

Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 8614502d737de5b00889c06cd88499b00867bb5d
CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Linux 3.16; UI Render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)

Cannot reproduce. Attaching print pdf where header looks fine.
Comment 6 E.Mi 2016-07-01 06:18:20 UTC
Maybe you guys have additional fonts installed, try on a fresh install of ubuntu 16.04 also @Joel your screenshot shows a problem on last letter O. compared to MS excel viewer
Comment 7 Gert Van Waelvelde 2016-07-01 20:30:24 UTC
I can reproduce this in LO 4.2.8.2, but not in in LO 5.2.
Comment 8 MM 2016-07-01 23:49:23 UTC
Unconfirmed with v5.2.0.1 under ubuntu 16.04 x64.
Unconfirmed with v5.1.4.2 under windows 7 x64.

Maybe another ubuntu 16.04 package bug ?! Read: maybe some parts missing. Which doesn't help when installing ubuntu fresh again.....
Comment 9 Joel Madero 2016-07-02 05:02:47 UTC
This is obviously an environment issue - we've had 3 different QA members test and be unable to confirm. I suggest closing it as WFM.
Comment 10 E.Mi 2016-07-02 06:35:45 UTC
None of you have replied to the fact that this file has other problems like on the same page the point o. is spaced out compared to the others, in fact the screeen shot from other QA member shows proof that he sees the same problem
Comment 11 E.Mi 2016-07-02 06:39:47 UTC
The cut text shows me that is letter calibri at size 10 spaced horizontally and with bold, is the same for you all?
Comment 12 Adolfo Jayme Barrientos 2016-07-02 08:01:48 UTC
Looking at attachment 126014 [details], I think you should ensure that the fonts you’re using on your documents (in this case, Calibri) are properly installed if you want applications to display as you intend. LibreOffice, on the left, is falling back to DejaVu Sans, whose metrics are bigger than Calibri’s — thus, the text doesn’t fit.
Comment 13 E.Mi 2016-07-02 08:13:19 UTC
But when I select the text in LO it says calibri.. how do I see if it's falling back to something else?
Also I need to open another bug for the same document for a different problem??

The font name is displayed italicized by LibreOffice in that case. Note that fonts in Wine applications are not shared to the rest of Linux applications.
