Description pavelz 2016-02-21 10:44:49 UTC
When file is open in read-only mode (e.g. from e-mail attachment), there is infobar on the top which informs about this and which enables easily to switch to edit mode.

When doing a print preview (and closing the preview), the aforementioned infobar is lost, which may be confusing for less experienced users (although there is still read-only information in the window titlebar). Also the "easy" way to switch to edit mode is lost, as it is only accessible through menus or hotkeys then.

I think the read-only infobar should only be closed explicitly by user, not by the print preview action.

Adding myself to the CC list. I've also been bumping into this problem repeatedly. It's clearly a UI defect.

REPRODUCIBLE

Steps:

1. Open document in read only

2. Opened print preview on opened document

3. Closed print preview

Result:

Print preview closed. Read only mode notification and edit document option closes with no way to edit outside of closing and reopening document. In addition double clicking on page in print preview produces the aforementioned results.
