Note: Due to bug 72486, if the table is the very first thing in the document, selecting all will select-all the document rather than the table. To work around this when reproducing the bug, make sure the document starts with a blank paragraph before the table Still occurs in 4.3.0.4 release, with the slight consistency improvement(?) that "text colour" and "text highlight" are now just as disabled as all the other formatting options reproducible with LO 4.3.0.4 (Win 8.1) As reported by Matthew: Two issues are important to reproduce this bug: 1. You need to insert a line before the new table. If you open a new document and insert the table in the first line then it is not reproducible. 2. You have to select all cells by clicking CTRL + A. Create a 3x3 table in a Writer document 2. Merge cells A2:A3 and C2:C3 3. Select all within the table Results 1. Almost all text and table formatting options are greyed out 2. The text formatting options which are not greyed out (e.g. text colour, text highlight) have no effect on the selected text (cells) when invoked
