Bug 55499

Summary: UI: Removal of header/footer scrolls to begin of document
Product: LibreOffice Reporter: xbetbk9
Component: WriterAssignee: Not Assigned <libreoffice-bugs>
Status: NEW ---
Severity: minor CC: bugs, ilmari.lauhakangas, rap.myx
Priority: medium
Version: 3.6.1.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All

Crash report or crash signature: Regression By:
Bug Depends on:
Bug Blocks: 106773

Description xbetbk9 2012-10-01 14:38:45 UTC
When hovering the top (or bottom) of a page, a blue button appears for adding a header (footer). When a user clicks again the blue button to remove the header, headers of all pages of the document are removed and thereby the view scrolls to the top.

This is probably undesired in long documents, and also inconsistent because you can add the (document-wide) header while working at a specific page, so removing it should leave you at the same page.

Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:2))
Ubuntu 12.10

Thank you very much for your bug report!

REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: da8c1e6), German langpack installed, on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel). Behaviour as the original reported described: as soon as I confirm to delete the header/footer, LibO shows the first page of the document.

Changing Platform to “All”, because reproducible on Linux and Mac OS X.
Changing Importance to minor (no crash, no data loss, etc., just irritating).

@ Cédric Bosdonnat:

Hello Cédric,

this is a minor issue, but annoying. Can we do anything about it?

Thank you very much!

Still repro.

More detailed steps as there was a request in the chat:
1. Open writer, add multiple pages (with Ctrl-Enter or whatever)
2. Add a header or footer (by hovering in the area and clicking +)
3. Be somewhere else than the first page and focus on header/footer
4. Delete header/footer

Jumps to the top.
