I could not reproduce with Thunderbird. It seems that in this +2 years time the HTML has changed. For example, the elements and attributes were not uppercase, there was no align=left in the p elements, br was changed to br/. Closing as WFM. Win 7 64-bit Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: 8b21b5cbe78945b27525b4ce78ae3d981f90590f TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2014-11-06_03:55:51 No it is not resolved. You are right that things have changed. I checked with both Thunderbird, Kontact and GMail (the web interface) which all give the same result and will post screen shots as attachment. Apparently the problem now is: Each line is translated to <p class=3D"western" align=3D"left" style=3D"margin-bottom: 0cm">The line</p> which automatically creates a spacing with the previous line. An empty line becomes <p class=3D"western" align=3D"left" style=3D"margin-bottom: 0cm"><br/> </p> So a break with additional paragraph spacing. Created attachment 109052 [details]

Needs confirmed by QA team, moving to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks all. Oops, I got confused with the talk about forwarded message being different. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2.
