[This is an automated message.] This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1 more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html Design team: this request was self-confirmed 10 years ago and lacked a proper description. However, it seems to be about OLE objects. If I add a OLE objects whether internal formats such as Chart or as file, in both cases the content is exported to PDF as seen on the document. Test document
If you open the document on Libreoffice you can see that have an OLE object test.txt and you can open it.
If you export to pdf, in the pdf you could see an icon but you can not get test.txt attach into pdf.

Your document contains of a dummy text and an image.
You can't confirm your own bugs. Moving it back to UNCONFIRMED until someone else confirms it. This issue exist in LibreOfficeDev 7.2 The inserted OLE object is missing in the PDF document. This issue exist in LibreOfficeDev 7.2 The inserted OLE object is missing in the PDF document. Cannot confirm the issue (Linux, kf5), and ultimately it's not a question for UX. (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #5) > Created attachment 169173 [details] > Screenshot Writer and PDF > > Your document contains of a dummy text and an image. The original attachment contains dummy text and an **icon** which if double-clicked opens another Writer document with further dummy text Created attachment 182820 [details]
Export to PDF with MSO
Confirming. However, when I export with MSO the embedded object is taken into the document. Makes me wonder what expectation users may have thinking about more complex objects. Isn't our approach more WYSIWYG than this unpleasing solution?
Miklos, what do you think about exporting embedded objects? Loosing less data during PDF export sounds like a reasonable improvement, if somebody wants to work on this. I can add to this that I tried today to insert a spreadsheet-file as an OLE object in a LO writer document, and that it works in Writer (i can open the document by double clicking on the icon in the file), but after exporting to PDF, this no longer works. Double clicking the icon in the resulting PDF does nothing. All other hyperlinks work correctly. using LO 7.3.6.2 on Kubuntu Still the case in recent master build: Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: beaea2e992912b4747d790070b26371f557b1f57 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Same in OOo 3.3, so inherited. Bug mentioned in https://litaviser.com/ confirmed for LbreOffice 4.2.4.2 Build-ID: 63150712c6d317d27ce2db16eb94c2f3d7b699f8 Thank you for submitting this bug. I can confirm that it still occurs in Version: 24.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: a2265e8faa099d9652efd12392c2877c2df1d1eb CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: default; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded as well as Version: 24.2.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: db4def46b0453cc22e2d0305797cf981b68ef5ac CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: default; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded |
