Occasionally, when you edit the details of an animation effect for some slide elements, the selection of elements is scrapped, and the effect details controls become grayed out, and the specific control you were working on loses focus.

I'm seeing this happen with multiple items selected, which are text lines within a box, and with an emphasis effect. Will try and find the time to provide exact reproduction instructions later on (assuming this is not a duplicate).

If I were able to consistently reproduce it, I would provide those steps. I can just say that it happens working on presentations with > 5 effects on > 20 slides.
