Description R. Green 2021-01-31 12:14:34 UTC
Version: 7.0.0.3 (x64)
Build ID: 8061b3e9204bef6b321a21033174034a5e2ea88e
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win

Calc: threaded

One often has to use the "Check Spelling (F7) box for long periods when checking long documents. But the text in this box is considerably smaller than that in the main document window. This puts extra strain on the eyes and adds to the difficulty for those with less-than-perfect vision.

SUGGESTION: Redesign the box to allow the window, and text display area, to be resized, and the font within it to be made larger if desired.

I confirm it with

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 28555fc345ac2ccdda0e4e0f3c812c646befe68b
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

and also with

Version: 5.4.7.2 (x64)
Build-ID: c838ef25c16710f8838b1faec480ebba495259d0
CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 6.19; UI-Render: GL;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: CL

Since you can change the size of any other dialog (tested some but of course not all) I would treat it as a bug instead of an enhancement.

Comment 3 R. Green 2023-06-15 10:20:27 UTC
Version: 7.5.4.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community

CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3

The problem still stands. The text in the spell-check box is too small and not resizeable.
